Turanganui Kapa Haka Festival

Yesterday on November our school attended the Turanganui's schools festival. The little kids performed first, and they were pretty good. When they were walking off of the stage, we went and got ready. The front row boys and the Kaia (which I also am) had to wear nothing but pui pui's and black undies. The pui pui's were tight, but it was fine by us because if it fell off then we would be going out there with just our undies.

Before I knew it I was heading on stage. The stage was huge and there were more people who had arrived now. Charlie W and Teifi started our first song which is our school's own. We leaded through a few more songs, my favorite being Eminaka. After Eminaka our Kaia lead us through the girls to the front of the stage. We did our haka and it was good. Once we ended with the girls coming into the gaps of the boys, we sung our final song.

I think it was a great experience, and a nice way to end my last few weeks of Wainui Beach School.
